Groups who need help at all 4 zones in the Brunei Muara District will be receiving hamper donations on the 18th of this month under the Jalinan Kasih Belia Programme. Yesterday, 68 youth volunteers carried out work on packaging 40 hampers for the programme at the Youth Centre in the capital.
The packaging the hampers is a continuation of the first phase that involved making biscuits. Apart from that, aid in the form of food was also donated by private sector, individuals and others. According to Awang Haji Mohamad Sufian Haji Amit, Youth Centre Supervisor, the list of recipients from the specific departments have been identified including individuals who know the position of families in need.
Each volunteer contributed ideas to produce hamper designs according to their creativity. The programme is a first step to gain experience in the future. One of the volunteers, Dayang Rina Nurhafizah Rezza Binti Abdul Rani, hoped that other youths will participate in the activity. Through this, every youth will gain useful experience and have the opportunity in meeting other friends while exchanging thoughts regarding a few things, including carry out such programme.
