The Royal Brunei Land Force has received 5 new Patrol Boats, which represent vital and significant assets for the unit. A ceremony to hand over the new KH27 Patrol Boats was held yesterday afternoon at the Royal Brunei Navy Base.
The patrol boats' plaque was presented by Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces to Brigadier General Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampuh, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force. The patrol boats are vital assets of the Royal Brunei Land Force in performing one of its roles, which is carrying out river patrols and providing assistance in search and rescue operations. The KH-27 patrol boat, which measures 28 feet 5 inches and weighs 1800 kilograms, is capable of reaching a speed of up to 40 knots. It has a maximum capacity of 14 passengers including 2 crew members.
