His Majesty Get-Together Ceremony

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon attended a get-together ceremony with citizens and residents, as well as students from Brunei Darussalam who are currently in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The ceremony was held at the Intercontinental Cairo Citystars Hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Pengiran Haji Mustapa Bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Arab Republic of Egypt; and Haji Awang Muhammad Hasif bin Haji Awang, President of the Welfare Body of Brunei Darussalam's Students in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Thereafter, His Majesty signed a commemorative parchment in conjunction of the ceremony. His Majesty was then invited for a photo session with senior officers of the Brunei Darussalam's Embassy in Egypt, as well as the executive members of the Brunei Darussalam Student's Welfare Body. His Majesty then proceeded for a light refreshment with the students' representatives.

Afterwards, His Majesty then proceeded to the Al- Saraya Hall for the Get-Together Ceremony. The ceremony began with the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam.

It was followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Mohammad Rohaidi bin Johadi, a student in the Faculty of Usuluddin at the Al-Azhar University and the recitation was continued with the recitation style of Riwayat Warsh by Awang Afiq Haririe bin Haji Awang Mat Daud, a student in Ma'had Qiraat Syubra.

The translation of the verses was read by Haji Mohammad Waez bin Haji Ramlee of the Arabic Language Faculty at the Al-Azhar University. A Doa Selamat was then recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr.) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

The ceremony continued with a welcoming address by Haji Awang Muhammad Hasif bin Haji Awang, on behalf of all the Bruneian citizens and students, which among others, delivered a pledge of unwavering loyalty and allegiance to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

At the ceremony, His Majesty received a pesambah, presented by the President of the Brunei Darussalam Students' Body.

Before leaving the ceremony, His Majesty mingled and met with more than 250 citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam consisting of students, government officials, as well as those on vacation. The ceremony also featured a Tausyeh performance by Bruneian students in Egypt.
