His Majesty Meeting With Prime Minister of Bangladesh

 

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam continued the itinerary on the second day of the State Visit to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh with a Meeting and Bilateral Meeting with Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The meetings took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty was welcomed by Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

 

During the Bilateral Meeting, His Majesty and Her Excellency, among other matters, addressed bilateral relations as well as cooperation between both countries through the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding, MoU in the fields of shipping, labour and energy and an Agreement on air services. Both leaders also discussed on the exploration of new opportunities for cooperation by both countries.

 

Following the Bilateral Meeting, His Majesty, together with Her Excellency Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh witnessed the signing of three MoUs and an Agreement between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, namely Air Services Agreement, ASA; MoU on the Employment / Recruitment of Bangladeshi Workers; M-o-U on the Field of Cooperation in the Supply of Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG and other Petroleum Products; and MoU on the Recognition of Certificates Under the Terms of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, As Amended. Before leaving the Prime Minister’s Office, His Majesty was bade farewell by Her Excellency Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
