Two Bangladeshi nationals were brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court yesterday for an offence under the Immigration Act. 34-year old, Sheikh Zakaria, and 35-year old, Md Nashir Biswas, were found guilty of overstaying in the country after their visit passes have expired.
The offenders were each sentenced to 3 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of the cane. They were detained by the Enforcement Officers of the Immigration and National Registration Department during the 'Operasi Kekang' at Kampong Tagap in Jerudong early this month.
