In conjunction with International Women’s Day, the reading of Surah Yaasin and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony was held virtually last night organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in collaboration with the Women’s Council of Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Quran Tahfiz Institute, IMPAK Penggerak Belia Daerah Tutong, strategic partner of MCYS and volunteers, which coincided with a Doa Selamat to seek protection from COVID-19.
Among those participating was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The event was glorified with a Tazkirah or talk titled ‘Wanita, Kuatlah Demi Ilahi’. Various activities are organised throughout March with the main event, Eco-chat series titled Women Leading the Way, a collaboration between MCYS with Community for Brunei and BIBD.
