ISO 22301:2019 Award Ceremony

The COVID-19 pandemic which has affected economies and lifestyles, has also altered how people work and function. Ultimately, it has brought significance to the role of proper Business Continuity Management, BCM as a valuable instrument for ensuring the best possible defence against unforeseen threats.

The Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy made the speech at the BIACC Award Ceremony for ISO 22301:2019 yesterday morning. The function took place at a hotel in Jerudong. Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, who is also Chairman of BIACC explained that the BCM being an integrated management process aims to identify serious risks for an organisation at an early stage and subsequently identify measures to mitigate interruptions to critical business activities.

The event aimed to promote the importance of preparing for risks amid a volatile global economic environment. BIACC was audited early last May by Bureau Veritas to assure compliance to the ISO standard and has achieved the ISO 22301:2019 certification on 17th June 2022.
