Jerudong: In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the Jalan Muara Sixth Form Centre, a Khatam Al-Qur'an and Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony was held at the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque. The event took place on the morning of May 4th.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony began with a presentation of endowments to the mosque. This was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Begawan Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Umar, a Member of the Privy Council. The event also included the presentation of donations to orphans.
The ceremony was attended by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, who serves as Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. Members of the Legislative Council were also present at the event.
