Latest Development on the COVID-19 Situation in Brunei Darussalam

 

One new imported case was reported yesterday bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 183. In the press release, the Ministry of Health informed that Case 183 is a child aged 1 year 7 months who arrived in the country from Bangladesh via Kuala Lumpur on the 28th of January 2021 on-board flight Royal Brunei BI874.

 

At present, the case is being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Centre. The contact tracing has found three close contacts for this case.

 

The last COVID-19 case was reported on the 6th of May 2020. Meanwhile, the total number of imported cases since the last one is 42.

 

576 people are currently undergoing mandatory self-isolation. Meanwhile, 12,704 people have completed their mandatory self-isolation since March 2020.

 

In the meantime, 287 samples have been tested for the SARS CoV-Two Virus, bringing the total number of lab tests since January 2020 to 94,605.
