Bandar seri begawan: A Malaysian woman faced charges at the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate’s Court on November 6 under the Excise Order 2006. Ling Kwong Siong, aged 50, admitted guilt regarding the possession of numerous brands of alcoholic beverages without a valid permit.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the charges came about following an inspection conducted by the Law Enforcement Division of the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Kuala Belait Branch, alongside the Royal Brunei Police Force at a residence in the Bengkurong area. The court imposed a fine on the accused amounting to $16,080 Brunei Dollars or an alternative of 13 months imprisonment in case of non-payment.
The seized items, which included alcoholic drinks, mobile phones, and cash, are set to be surrendered to the Government for destruction.
