The newly introduced Natural farming method can contribute to an increase in crop production through the use of farm produced fertilisers. It is also a method that uses waste materials from the agriculture industry. This was among the matters presented during the 'Natural Farming Introduction Programme' for agricultural entrepreneurs in the country, yesterday morning.
Dayang Norizan Othman, an expert from Nur Organic Farm, Malaysia among other matters touched on the Natural farming concept, its advantages and production elements such as the provision of fertilisers and land, damage as well as diseases management. She explained that by recycling materials from the farm itself, farmers will be able to reduce costs from the purchase of organics fertilisers as well as reduce negative impact on the environment.
The three-day programme also covers practical training on ways of making organic fertilisers using farm waste according to the Natural Farming method. With the programme, farmers hope to practise the natural farming method and reduce farm waste and at the same time protect the environment as well as increase crop yield and the farmers' income.
