Touching on the new application and extension of Foreign Worker License, the Minister of Home Affairs informed that several matters were coordinated and updated between the Labour Department in collaboration with various stakeholders which acts as regulators in relevant sectors and with the Brunei Job Centre.
Yang Berhormat Pehin said that among them are accelerating the application process for Foreign Worker Licenses submitted to the Labour Department and who have obtained a clearance letter from Job Centre Brunei, especially for the construction sector, wholesale and retail sector, food services sector, agriculture and fisheries sector and agri-food due to lack labor, updating the Address Confirmation Form where the employer only needs to fill in the declaration form which is intended and ensure the employer to be responsible for the well-being of their employees by providing accommodation with basic needs such as complying with the living room area, water supply and sanitation, temporarily postpone the requirement for employers to present photographs of the condition of the employee’s house and room as well as the need to obtain the confirmation of the Village Head.
