Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah yesterday presented the Tenderfoot Membership Badges, Warrant and Pre-Warrant Cards Nationwide to 196 new members of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association. The presentation ceremony took place at the Multipurpose Hall of Pusar Ulak Primary School in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness as President of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association was greeted by Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim, the Chief Commissioner of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Kesyukuran led by Dayang Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani, the Spiritual Commissioner.
Members of the Girl Guides Association sang the National Anthem, as well as the Girl Guides World and Asia Pacific Region songs.
In her welcoming speech, Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah among other matters said that the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association is the only association that carried out and has a continuous informal education program according to age from 5 until 21 years old.
The reading of the Association's pledge was led by Dayang Nurul Wafaa binti Awang Mohammad, Equipment Secretary, while the Junior Girl Guides Pledge was led by Dayang Siti Zubaidah binti Haji Nur Hisham, Registration Secretary.
Her Royal Highness then awarded the Tenderfoot Membership Badges, Leaders Warrant and Pre-Warrant cards as well as membership badges to the members of the girl guides and junior girl guides. The membership badge is the main requisite that allows association members to take part in activities organised by the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association and World Association of Girl guides and Girl Scouts and complete their respective education program.
The Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association is an active association that always carry out voluntary works. To date the association has one thousand 800 members.
