In preparation for the upcoming Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-14 Regional Festival of Football to be held in Brunei Darussalam from Aug 18-22, the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) hosted an AFC referee preparatory course yesterday.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Haji Muhd Zamri bin Dato Paduka Haji Hamdani, NFABD’s General-Secretary where he urged all participating referees to take full advantage of the AFC referee preparatory course and utilise the knowledge for future officiating of the game.
Haji Muhd Zamri also highlighted that great officiating of the matches would ensure fair play and keep the integrity of the beautiful game intact. Also in attendance at the opening were AFC festival manager Dr. Shamil Kamil Mohammed and referee instructors, Mohamad Rodzali bin Yacob and Micheal Hanania.
The AFC referee preparatory course will look to educate and assess the participating referees to get ready for the AFC festival of football matches. The five-day course will end on Aug 16. The participants of the course are from Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam as well as Brunei Darussalam as the host.
Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the AFC U-14 Regional Festival of Football will be held on Tuesday (Aug 18) at 4pm at the Track and Field Sports Complex. Members of the public are welcome to attend as entrance is free.
