Official Opening of Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries 30th Executive Board Meeting & 17th General Assembly

Since its inception, the Brunei Darussalam Former Soldiers Association continues to be active in contributing to national development and in the field of social cooperation. The association became a member of the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN countries, VECONAC in 1992. The association is currently playing host to the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN countries 30th Executive Board Meeting & 17th General Assembly. The event was officiated yesterday morning.

In his speech, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces said that the meeting is a platform for former army veterans from ASEAN to enhance understanding among themselves.

The 5-day meeting is chaired by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Paduka Raja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Shari bin Ahmad, the President of VECONAC. Also in attendance were the Advisor of the Brunei Darussalam Former Soldiers Association, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Retired Major General Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basit Bin Pengiran Dato Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong and Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Retired Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud.
