InfoCom Federations Brunei, IFB and D'sunlit Sendirian Berhad with the support from the Ministry of Communication and The Authority for Info-Communications and Technology Industry, AiTi organised The Brunei Technology Expo, TechXpo 2018. The opening ceremony of TechXpo was held yesterday morning at International Convention Centre, Berakas. Themed 'Innovative Technology for All', the TechXpo acts as a platform for exhibitors to showcase products, services, trends, developments, and ideas associated with technology from Brunei and all across the globe.
The ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Communications. Towards building a Smart Nation, the Ministry of Communications as the expo's facilitator has been given the opportunity to raise the public awareness via technology advancement and availability of road safety through New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) or star rating for safer vehicles. It highlights the importance of safety characteristic for the public when purchasing a vehicle. In effort to expand the scope and leaves a positive impact in ICT, this year's expo among other things highlights Artificial Intelligence through robotics and home connectivity. The expo also exhibited the role of technology in meteorological apparatus, weather forecast and extreme weather warning through Brunei WX apps and social media. Also present was Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Development.
Among the highlights of the event was TechXpo Cyber Games Tournament 2018, which was officiated by The Minister of Communications. The games is organised by D'sunlit Sendirian Berhad together with Sigma Cyberspace. The TechXpo is open until this Tuesday from 10 in the morning to 10 in the evening. Visitors can take part in various activities such as seminars and workshops organised by Global Blockchains Business Consulting Sendirian Berhad, Techhaven, and I.T Protective Security Services Sendirian Berhad, ITPSS. The Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital will also organise a blood donation drive on Monday from 10 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon.
