Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore continue to strengthen cooperation and friendly relations through the 3rd Joint Training Exchange Program for Senior Officers. Speaking at the program's opening ceremony this morning, Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohamad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs said the program provides participants with the opportunity to establish networking, exchange ideas and learn from one another.
Awang Abdul Mutalib acknowledged that the continued close relations and bilateral cooperation between the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as the Republic of Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs which had existed and grown should continue to do so to further enhance both country's capacity in areas of security and safety.
Meanwhile, Mr.T Raja Kumar, Deputy Secretary (International) Ministry of Home Affairs, Republic of Singapore in his speech said the Annual Exchange program serves as an excellent platform for both officers to interact and bond with one another. 20 officers are taking part in the program. The 12-day program starts today with the first phase in Bandar Seri Begawan and in Singapore for the second. Throughout the program, participants will visit a number of agencies in both countries to gain better understanding on the roles and functions of the agencies as well as share experiences and best practices especially concerning security issues and coordination procedures at the national level apart from developing leadership skills. Also present were Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office AND Awang Ajman bin Meludin, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
