The Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB Oratory competition in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne for the Tutong district level was held this morning. The competition took place at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain Religious School. Two best participants for each category were selected to represent the Tutong district to the national level which will be held in September.
Awang Mazfazillah bin Maikal emerged as the champion in the category A for Higher Institution, aged between 17 and 25, with his oratory entitled "Melestarikan Budaya Brunei Dalam Pengukuhan MIB". First runner up went to Dayang Nur Qahirah Qayyimah binti Abdullah Masri with her oratory entitled "Pengisytirahan MIB dan Nilai-Nilai Di dalamnya". In Category B for Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE and Secondary Schools, aged between 12 and 20, was won by Mohammad Najihuddin bin Nooralizam with his subject entitled "Titah Permasyurhan Kemerdekaan", and Awang Nur Mizan Syafiee bin Nor Hashim, in second with his oratory entitled, "Bahasa Melayu Bahasa Rasmi Negara Kita". Meanwhile, category C which was opened for the public, aged 25 and above, was won by Dayang Mardlina binti Mohammad Juni with her oratory entitled "MIB Teras Keteguhan Negara".
Prizes were presented by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, Member of the Legislative Council, who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai, Tutong. Also present was Awang Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar, Acting Assistant Director of Islamic Da'wah Centre.
