Islamabad: The lawmakers in the National Assembly today paid rich tributes to the armed forces for delivering a befitting and strong response to the Indian aggression. Speaking on a motion, they affirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and vowed that Pakistan will avenge the blood of innocent civilians martyred in the Indian attack.
According to Radio Pakistan, the assembly highlighted Pakistan's commitment to peace but stressed that the nation would not compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf criticized the Modi government's policies, labeling them as rooted in hatred and praising the Pakistan Air Force for shooting down five Indian fighter jets.
Shahida Akhtar accused India of engaging in terrorism within Pakistan and emphasized the need for increased diplomatic efforts to expose India's actions on the global stage. Samina Ghurki noted the unity and solidarity exhibited by all political parties during this crisis.
Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Kesoo Mal Kheal Das, condemned the Indian attacks on mosques and civilians, calling Prime Minister Modi a terrorist responsible for the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat and the persecution in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He affirmed that minorities in Pakistan, including Hindus and Christians, support the country's armed forces.
Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, condemning the Indian aggression, assured that the Hindu community in Pakistan stands united with the armed forces to defend the nation. Other speakers echoed similar sentiments, demonstrating national solidarity in response to the recent events.
