PBBM names acting board member of SRA

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed David Andrew Sanson as acting board member of the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), Malacañang confirmed Wednesday. Marcos signed Sanson's appointment paper on June 15. Based on his appointment, Sanson will represent the sugar planters. The SRA is a government-owned and -controlled corporation attached to the Department of Agriculture, which Marcos Jr. currently heads. Marcos is also the concurrent chair of the SRA. Created under Executive Order 18 issued on May 28, 1986, the SRA is mandated to promote the growth and development of the sugar industry. It is tasked to formulate responsive development and regulatory policies, as well as provide research, development, and engineering services to ensure a sufficient supply of sugarcane for a diversified, sustainable, and competitive industry.
