PM discusses with Cambodian PM to speed up resolution of call center gang problem

Paetongtarn" discussed with the Cambodian Prime Minister to urgently solve cross-border problems - call center gangs - human trafficking - drugs, and to join in celebrating the 75th anniversary of Thai-Cambodian diplomatic relations next year. Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesman of the Prime Minister's Office, summarized the important points as follows: The Prime Minister affirmed the close friendship and strategic partnership between Thailand and Cambodia and asked both sides to continue cooperating for the benefit of the people of both countries. He also extended an invitation to the Cambodian Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Thailand. On this occasion, both sides discussed important cooperation issues as follows: Economic cooperation: The Prime Mini ster emphasized the following important issues: 1) Relevant agencies of both countries should continue to work according to the action plan to link special economic zones along the border; 2) Thailand proposed the 'Six Countries, One Destination' project to promote tourism; and 3) Thailand promotes rail freight services between the two countries to reduce cross-border logistics costs. It is ready to improve logistics connectivity between Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam along the Southern Economic Corridor, which is part of the joint action plan for Thailand-Cambodia strategic cooperation. In developing the border areas, Thailand is ready to manage and resolve cross-border issues in important issues that affect people's livelihoods, such as online fraud. Thailand welcomes the joint task force between the Thai and Cambodian police agencies, which can resolve issues more effectively; human trafficking, which is linked to online fraud, both by helping victims and dismantling all criminal networks; and drug traff icking. Thailand and Cambodia will share more intelligence and have border governors discuss increasing cooperation in combating drugs along the border. At the end, the two Prime Ministers expressed their delight at the people-to-people relationship and joined in celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cambodia next year.
