Brunei Darussalam is expected to experience below normal rainfall in February and March during the dry season. This was revealed by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department during a preparatory meeting to tackle the dry season which took place yesterday morning at the National Disaster Management Centre, NDMC.
Chaired by Retired Colonel Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said, the Director of NDMC, the meeting specifically identified measures of preparation as well as the agencies' preparedness in facing the dry season, including forest and grass fires. Apart from that, the meeting among other things also discussed on logistics and personnel preparations to overcome the dry season as well as efforts to raise the public's awareness on the impacts of dry weather. The meeting was also attended by representatives from various agencies including the District Offices, Radio Television Brunei, the Fire and Rescue Department, Forestry Department, and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
