Wise leadership with integrity, full commitment capabilities and diligence of upper management in heading any initiative and action aimed at further strengthening service provision to the public, are among the vital factors for public service excellence. The Permanent Secretary for Corporate Affairs and Public Administration at the Prime Minister's Office, underscored the matter at the Presentation of the ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation Certificate for the Management Services Department, MSD, yesterday morning.
Awang Haji Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah also stressed that commitment also acts as a boost for all levels of the public service to be more dedicated and competent as well as innovative in carrying out improvement efforts for the respective organisation's performance. He believed that all levels of the public service realise that efforts towards excellence has no ending especially when facing various challenges brought about by the effects of globalisation, liberalisation and rapid developments in the field of info-communication technology. Therefore, it should be stressed that there are no short-cuts in achieving excellence apart from dedicated efforts and working together as well as the unity of the public service mind-set and wisdom.
At the function, Awang Aminuddin bin Haji Buntar, Director of Management Services Department received the ISO Accreditation certificate. Last year, the department conducted a migration session from PBD ISO 9001:2008 to 9001:2015, as part of the department's continuous effort to enhance work quality and performance apart from enhancing the department's image as a management consultant together with government agencies and the public.
