Prince ‘Abdul Mateen Visits Harbin Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival

Harbin: His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, visited the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival, which was held at the Sun Island Scenic Resort, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, People's Republic of China. The Harbin Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival, held annually in Harbin, China, is the world's largest winter festival. It began in 1963 with simple ice lanterns during New Year celebrations, which later evolved into intricate ice sculptures. The arrival of His Royal Highness was greeted by Mr. Kong Qingbin, Party Secretary, Chairman, Harbin Modern Cultural Tourism Investment Group Company Limited; and Mr. Guo Hongwei, Party Secretary and Chairman of Harbin Ice and Snow World Company Limited.

According to Radio Television Brunei, at the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival, His Royal Highness viewed several ice sculpture replicas of world famous landmarks, among others, the Great Wall of China; Grand Palace (Thailand); the Merlion (Singapore); as well as an ice sculpture made especially for the visit of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to Harbin, China.
