Berakas: His Royal Highness Prince Doctor Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Deputy Sultan, delivered a sabda emphasizing the importance of sensitivity towards the advancements in digital technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), at the 13th Haflut Takharruj of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Institute. The ceremony was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas and was attended by His Royal Highness’ brother, Prince ‘Abdul Malik.
According to Radio Television Brunei, His Royal Highness stressed that while AI technology is rapidly integrating into daily life, its use must be governed by responsibility and awareness to prevent misuse or manipulation. His Royal Highness also underscored the importance of incorporating proven da’wah methodologies into the curriculum of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Institute to enhance students’ understanding of the Quran.
The event began with the reading of Surah Al-Hujurat, verses 13 to 15, by Awang Zainal Mustapa bin Jaluddin and Awang Naufal Darwisy bin Abdullah. Awang Ahmad Hamizan, Ahmad Aliridha bin Haji Laidin provided the interpretation. The Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, highlighted the elevation of studies to the Highest Diploma of ‘Aliyah Qiraat in his welcoming speech.
During the event, His Royal Highness awarded the Aaliyah Qiraat Diploma to 27 graduates, among whom 10 earned Excellent Grade, 9 obtained Very Good grade, 2 earned Good grade, and 6 obtained the Passing grade. The representative of the graduates, Awang Muhammad Mughni bin Haji Mohd Salleh, expressed gratitude for the facilities provided by His Majesty’s Government.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. Since its inception, the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Institute has significantly impacted society positively.
