‘Pure Intention’ for Allah

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah urges for the country to enhance all efforts in tackling COVID-19 with ‘pure intentions’ in the name of Allah in order to be protected from pandemics. In the titah, the Monarch says, the intention in the name of Allah is the best way of endearing oneself to Allah, in order to gain something that is wished for because Allah evaluates all behaviour based on intention. His Majesty made the titah in conjunction with the Hijrah New Year 1444 broadcast nationwide. In the titah, His Majesty takes note that this year’s celebration theme encourages being patient, striving, having faith and supplicating in facing tests. The theme, His Majesty adds, is seen as being appropriate with the current situation, in view of the country still facing the coronavirus pandemic.
