Brunei Darussalam records more than 2 hundred 78 thousand international tourists' arrival last year. The total shows the increase of 5 percent compared to 2017.
The positive development was achieved due to the impact of high demand for travellers from the Far East Market, such as China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan. The statistic was shared by the Tourism Development Department in a Media Conference on a Korean serial drama filming in the country. Several places of interest in the country, among others Ulu-Ulu Temburong and areas in Labi and Belait also become the filming location for the drama. The serial drama titled 'Asadal Chronicles' was directed by Kim Won Seuk, the award winner.
On the 6th March, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, held a reception for the Korean production team, in conjunction with the end of the filming. The 'Asadal Chronicles' filming project is very effective tourism campaign for Brunei Darussalam worldwide, as the main stars comprised of top-notch Korean actors, such as Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won, and Jang Dong Geun. The success of the drama is expected to bring growth to the number of tourists visiting the country.
