Bandar Seri Begawan: Eventhough the crops cultivated was on a small scale, the use of hydroponics has helped a retiree in the Belait District to produce a high quality crop yield. Located in Kampung Sungai Tali, Lumut, Belait District, Awang Haji Hasdan bin Haji Ibrahim's hydroponic mini garden initiative was initially to just fill his free time. However, after seeing the encouraging crop yield and the responses of the villagers, it became the impetus to build a hydroponic mini garden.
According to Radio Television Brunei, besides receiving orders from local entrepreneurs, Awang Haji Hasdan's hydroponic plants are also sent to nearby retail stores and some buyers also come directly to his home. Awang Haji Hasdan is also willing to provide guidance on the hydroponic cultivation method to anyone interested in learning it.
