Bandar Seri Begawan: Royal Brunei Airlines, RB, is set to begin twice-weekly flights connecting Bandar Seri Begawan with Beijing, People's Republic of China. The service, slated to commence on Monday, April 28th, will link the two capital cities via Daxing International Airport. At a reception celebrating this development, the Minister of Development emphasized that this initiative not only revives an essential air link but also reaffirms the robust ties between the two nations.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid highlighted that the resumption of direct flights is both timely and strategic. This move is aligned with RB's efforts to expand its network and enhance Brunei's status as a well-connected and reliable regional hub. The reception took place at The Empire Brunei on the afternoon of April 24th.
His Excellency Xiao Jianguo, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, remarked that the flight service between the two capitals promotes cooperation and injects new momentum into bilateral relations. The event also saw the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism; Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications; and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammad Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.
