Sarawak and Brunei Strengthen Transport Cooperation Through Official Visit

Gadong: The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications recently welcomed an official visit from Yang Berhormat Datuk Sri Lee Kim Shin, the Minister for Transport Sarawak, Malaysia. This visit, which took place at a hotel in Gadong, commenced with a courtesy call to Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, the Minister of Transport and Infocommunications.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the courtesy call involved discussions on enhancing cooperation in the land, maritime, and air transport sectors. Topics included safety, infrastructure development, and potential collaboration opportunities between Brunei Darussalam and Sarawak, Malaysia. This visit underscores the ongoing commitment to fostering closer bilateral ties and exploring mutually beneficial opportunities for the people and economies of both regions.

The official visit proceeded with a Bilateral Meeting between the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and the Ministry of Transport Sarawak. Discussions covered the exchange of information on policy and the transport sector, as well as achievements in trans-border projects undertaken by both parties. Additionally, the Minister for Transport Sarawak engaged with Brunei Darussalam's logistics-related companies, including those in aviation and shipping.
