Gadong: The School-Based Disaster Risk Management Programme, orchestrated by the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is fostering a culture of disaster preparedness among students in both government and private schools across the nation. This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Education and other relevant agencies, recently took place at Kesuma Mekar Rimba School in Gadong.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the programme was attended by over 40 participants, including teachers and students from Years four and five. The two-day event emphasized understanding risks, provided practical training, and aimed to build the capability to respond safely and effectively during emergencies. The programme concluded with a ceremony where participants were awarded certificates for their involvement and commitment to disaster preparedness.
