Sports Guidelines Update

Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Miister of Culture, Youth and Sports touched on updating sports guidelines.  The Minister said organised sports is permitted only for recreational events such as walking, running, cycling as well as aerobics and Tai Chi.

 

Yang Berhormat stressed that several guidelines should be obeyed such as the organiser should as usual, obtain permission from the relevant authorities first.  The organiser is also required to submit plans for COVID-19 control measures inline with Ministry of Health Guidelines.  The number of participants is limited based on the Mass Gathering Guideline.  The Minister also reminded that other guidelines for sports centre as similar to previous ones, including team sports where only 15 players per team are allowed to train.   Organising competitions is still prohibited.  Touching on   further de-escalation from Level 3 to 4 for Senior Citizens Activities Centre.  At Level 4, usage capacity is increased from 80 to 100 percent at one time, subject to available space.  Other guidelines are similar to the current ones.
