Temburong: Thousands of citizens and residents of Temburong District gathered at the Civic Centre Complex Field to welcome His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, for a Get-Together Ceremony. The event was held in conjunction with His Majesty’s 79th Birthday Celebration, making Temburong District the first to host the ceremony this year.
According to Radio Television Brunei, students waving miniature flags enhanced the welcoming atmosphere for His Majesty. Upon arrival, he was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs and Chairman of the celebration’s National Committee. The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Majesty’s sons and brother: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The theme ‘Raja Berwawasan Inspirasi Kesejahteraan dan Kemakmuran Negara’ was interpreted through a special performance by over 300 participants. The concept of ‘Raja Saksama Negara Sejahtera,’ reflecting the people’s love and loyalty towards the monarch, was expressed through cultural dances by various ethnic groups in Temburong District. Prior to meeting the citizens and residents, His Majesty took time to mingle with the performance participants.
