Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, received The Honourable Associate Professor Doctor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs, Republic of Singapore, at the Istana Nurul Iman. The audience ceremony occurred during the afternoon of 25th November as part of the minister’s two-day visit to Brunei.
According to Radio Television Brunei, this visit marks The Honourable’s first official trip to Brunei Darussalam since his appointment on 23rd May 2025. It aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Brunei and Singapore in various fields of mutual interest, particularly in religious affairs. The visit follows the recent 11th Young Leaders’ Programme hosted in Bandar Seri Begawan, where both nations reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining their longstanding ties.
Also attending the ceremony were several high-ranking officials, including Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
The Honourable Associate Professor Doctor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim was accompanied by His Excellency Laurence Bay, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei Darussalam; Kadir Maideen, Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, MUIS; and Doctor Mohd Murat Md Aris, Deputy Mufti of MUIS.
