Bandar seri begawan: The Takbir, tahmid, and tasbih echoed throughout Brunei Darussalam as a manifestation of gratitude to Allah Subahanahu Wata'ala for the blessing of celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The celebration commenced with the Sunat Aidilfitri Prayer held across all mosques, suraus, and religious halls nationwide. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, joined the citizens and residents for the Sunat Aidilfitri Prayer at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong, on the morning of 21st March.
According to Radio Television Brunei, upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was greeted by several dignitaries including Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, and several ministers such as Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. Other notable figures present included Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
In addition to the dignitaries, His Royal Highness' brothers, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen, also attended the prayer. The Sunat Aidilfitri prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
The first sermon delivered by Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin highlighted the practice of visiting one another during Syawal, which is considered a good and permissible act in Islam. The second sermon focused on the significance of fasting during the month of Syawal, emphasizing the six-day fast that is said to carry the reward of fasting for an entire year.
Before departing Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, His Royal Highness and members of the Royal Family engaged in junjung ziarah, a respectful greeting exchange, with the congregants.
