Three vehicles owned by 3 transportation companies, Syarikat Watikah Ahza, LCY Development Sendirian Berhad and Tianteng Forwarding, have been given notice of temporary suspension of its Hire and Reward Licence for three months.
The drivers from the said companies were also issued 500-dollars compounds for 4th offence of overloading and not covering their loads during roadblock and patrol operations conducted by the Land Transport Department’s Enforcement Section. The operations were conducted on the 27th, 29th, and 30th of June, as well as on the second of this month at Jalan Perusahaan Serasa, Muara Tutong Highway, Jalan Sungai Liang and Jalan Sungai Tujoh.
9 drivers from 6 transportation companies were issued 50-dollar compounds (first offence) and 150-dollar compounds (second offence) for overloading, while another 50-dollars compound (first offence) was issued for driving a vehicle with improper light installation. Meanwhile, a personal vehicle driver was issued a 50-dollar compound for vehicle being in poor condition. These were issued during roadblocks conducted by the Land Transport Department with the Department of Investigation and Traffic Control, Royal Brunei Police Force on the 27th of June this year at Tungku Link.
In an effort to ensure that transportation company owners abide by all road regulations, the Land Transport Department will conduct a briefing to further explain the enforced road acts and regulations to further increase their understanding. The Land Transport will also continue to monitor and conduct patrols at roads in the country to ensure the safety and well-being of all road users.
