“Thawee” reveals “Prachachat” is in favor of amending the constitution.

"Thawee" reveals "Prachachat" agrees with amending the constitution, ethical standards must be clear, preventing independent organizations from using their power as personal property. Pol. Lt. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice and leader of the Prachachat Party, spoke about the case of Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, who stated that all coalition parties agreed with the amendment of the constitution on the issue of ethical standards and honesty, which is evident because the interpretation is too broad. He said that the Prachachat Party had already campaigned for the amendment of the constitution in the election. We want to have members of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) and hold a referendum on the amendment of the constitution. The Prachachat Party wants the amendment of the decentralization of power, the welfare of the people, and the provisions in the section on the rights and freedoms of the people to be reviewed, including the amendment of the provisions on giving too much power to independent organizations. When asked again whether there should be amendments to the issue of ethical standards, Pol. Col. Thawee said that there should be a clear definition because if the law is vague and unclear, it will become the private property of independent organizations that can be used however they want. Therefore, there should be amendments to clearly define the framework, especially in the matter of the election of MPs and Senators, who are elected by the people. Those who will be responsible for making decisions should receive the authority from the people. Source: Thai News Agency
