The implementation of the twice monthly salary payments extended to all permanent, contract, month-to-month, Open Vote and daily paid Civil Service employees, including uniformed personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Royal Brunei Police Force starts yesterday.
Among the aims of the implementation is to improve the efficacy of government officers and staff cash flow management to cater their daily needs, apart from facilitating family spending planning. It also aimed to assist in commercial and economic activities’ continuity within the country, as well as from making the domestic economy more sustainable. During interviews, several civil service employees supported the new system, while others see it as a challenge for them to spend prudently.
