The Royal Burial Ceremony

Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul Azim was laid to rest at the Royal Mausoleum. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha attended to the 'Istiadat Pemakaman DiRaja', or the Royal Burial Ceremony.

Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons, daughters, brothers and sisters:

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel;

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Norhayati;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess 'Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Nor'ain;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Nasibah; AND

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah.

Al-Marhum His Royal Highness was carried in a special motorcade from Istana Nurul Iman to the Royal Mausoleum for the 'Istiadat Pemakaman DiRaja'.

The reading of tahlil and doa tahlil was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri then poured the ayeng asah-asahan or scented water on the grave of Al-Marhum His Royal Highness. Also pouring the ayeng asah-asahan was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

Followed by:

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel and;

- Al-Marhum His Royal Highness' mother, Puan Hajah Mariam binti Haji Abdul Aziz.

Also present was His Highness Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the Tunku Temenggong Johor, as personal representative of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Iskandar, Sultan Yang Di-Pertuan of Johor Darul Ta'zim. People and residents of Brunei Darussalam are hereby required to mourn for 7 days, began on Saturday, 7th of Rabiulawal 1442 corresponding to 24th of October 2020.

In his lifetime, Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul 'Azim was awarded the Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei, DKMB, and the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Medal, PHBS. Al-Marhum was known as a virtuous person who was active in various charities such as arts, youth and welfare, and also persons with disabilities and autism.
