The turmoil in the oil and gas industry in Brunei Darussalam due to COVID-19 outbreak, can be regarded as an opportunity for the business leaders to search new opportunities and strive in diversifying the country’s economy. This is the new ways to make Brunei’s economy more resilient and less dependent on petroleum and natural gas.
The matter was among highlighted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Doctor Abdul Fattaah ibni His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Chairman of Baiduri Bank Group Board of Directors in his opening remarks at the Townhall Forum in Business Survival and Opportunity in the time of COVID-19. The forum took place yesterday morning at the Radisson Hotel in the capital. Yang Amat Mulia said that during this current situation, it is agreed that there is a continuing need for trust and greatest degrees of collaboration. The situation may be challenging, but, this is the time to build strong foundations and form strategic partnerships.
Earlier, Dato Paduka Timothy Ong, Chairman of Asia Inc Forum, in his welcoming address said that the future of any business must include digitalization.
The Forum discussion comprised of 3 panellist among other things touched on the positive and negative impacts on business and measures to tackle the current situation of COVID-19. The one-day forum was attended by about 90 local entrepreneurs and corporate executives.
