Matters of shared values and religious understanding became the topics of discussion between the Acting Minister of Religious Affairs and the Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, United Kingdom yesterday morning.
The discussion was held when PengiranDato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar received a visit from The Right Honourable Mark Field MP at Jame' AsrHassanilBolkiah in KampungKiarong. The Right Honourable Mark Field MP was interested to hear about the arrangements taking place for Aidiladha in Brunei Darussalam, and noted how many of his constituents in London were also busy planning for the festival.
The Right Honourable was taken on a tour of the main prayer hall as well as the Abdul Aziz Library, where he had the opportunity to view some of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's personal collection of Al-Quran manuscript. Also present were His Excellency Richard Lindsay, the British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam; Dato Seri SetiaAwang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; and Awang Haji MohdSerudin bin Haji Timbang, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
