Bandar Seri Begawan: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, UNESCO, has designated 23rd April as World Book Day. The Language and Literature Bureau organized a celebration to commemorate this day by launching a series of new books and digital editions.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event saw the launch of five new books and 40 digital books, officiated by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. With the theme 'Bacalah dengan Gayamu' or 'Read Your Way', the celebration aimed to inspire a love for books and reading among children and the broader community. Members of the Legislative Council were also in attendance to support this strategic effort by the bureau.
