World Town Planning Day Celebration Emphasizes Cross-Agency Collaboration

Bandar seri begawan: Efforts to create sustainable, inclusive, and livable towns and residential areas require robust and integrated collaboration across different sectors. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda Bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, emphasized this at the Launching Ceremony of the National Level World Town Planning Day Celebration 2025. The Minister explained that town planning’s role extends beyond land use management or physical development, serving as a collaborative platform involving all stakeholders.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Minister highlighted that through effective collaboration, a comprehensive, integrated, and innovative town planning approach could be achieved. This aligns with the objectives of Wawasan Negara, aiming for sustainable economic growth and a high quality of life.

As part of the celebration, eight Planning Guidelines and Standards books and an online Public Planning Complaints System were introduced. The event features an exhibition that will run for five days starting 11th November at Dewan Betabur and the 1st Floor Foyer, Ministry of Development. Additionally, several briefing and dialogue sessions are planned, targeting professionals in the construction industry, school students, and the general public.
