50 years since its establishment, Bandar Seri Begawan Youth Centre continues to be relevant inline with the current developments. It acts a a catalyst to the youths in carrying out their responsibilities as the driver of the country's progress. The move towards progress through the 'Rebranding' of all youth centres in the country including Bandar Seri Begawan Youth Centre in 2012, was inline with their importance as the platform for youth activities and programmes towards positive youth development.
Bandar Seri Begawan Youth Centre was officially opened by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The centre was first opened to the public on 23rd March 1969 for religious, cultural, economic and sports activities.
Various facilities are provided at the centre including Recreational Hall, Silaturarahim Hall literally meaning family and friendship hall, Hostel and Swimming Pool. The hostel has been upgraded with better facilities for the public, including overseas tourists. The aspiration to revive the youth centre was realised with the strong support and participation of youths and the local community.
The goal of the youth centre is to produce highly spirited, cultured, learned and excellent youths. The youth centre will continue to improve its image in the eyes of society as an organisation with integrity in carrying out the various youth activities inline with His Majesty's emphasis on youth as the important national assets.
