21 Bulacan MSMEs showcase best products in 12-day trade fair

Bulacan – At least 21 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in the province were given an opportunity to showcase their products in this year’s ‘Tatak Bulakenyo Pinoypreneur Trade Fair.’ The 12-day trade fair which opened Thursday at SM City Marilao was organized by the provincial government of Bulacan- Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). DTI Assistant Regional Director Edna Dizon has encouraged MSMEs to level up their participation in the regional and national trade fairs that would give them opportunities to reach more buyers. Through the trade fair, Dizon said the MSMEs can meet buyers which would result in matching and establishing linkages. She likewise asked the MSMEs to continue developing their products to remain competitive. In developing the products, she cited the importance of making the packaging attractive. Dizon assured that DTI will always extend the needed support starting from product development to market access. Among the products on display at the trade fair that will run until June 12 are a wide range of food products and delicacies such as mushroom chips, cookies, rice crackers, pork chicharon, and rice cakes or kakanin. Locally-made bags, footwear, home decors, fashion accessories, apparel, novelty products, personal care products as well as unique gift items are also featured in the trade fair. Launched in 2004, the “Tatak Bulakenyo” (Bulacan brand) program was conceptualized to stimulate economic activity in the province and sustain the anti-poverty thrust of the government through the promotion of entrepreneurship.
