80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War Celebrated in Brunei

Gadong: The preservation of historical truth and memory is not only a moral obligation but also key to ensuring that the horrors of global war are never repeated. This was among matters highlighted by His Excellency Mikhail Baranov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam during a reception for the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The reception took place at a hotel in Gadong, 15th May night.

According to Radio Television Brunei, among those present was Captain Awang Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. The event was graced with a film screening dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War and performance of wartime songs. The reception included a thematic photo exhibition showcasing key moments of the Great Patriotic War and the Soviet contribution to the Allied victory.
