Jeju: The strategic direction and initiatives including the Ministry of Education Digital Transformation Plan 2023 - 2027, School Network Infrastructure Upgrade, and Project National AI training program for educators were among matters shared by the Minister of Education during the 7th APEC Education Ministers Meeting. Held at the International Convention Centre, Jeju, Republic of Korea, recently, Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education also highlighted Brunei Darussalam's participation in regional initiatives such as the APEC Digital Education Policy Training Program.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the meeting serves as the highest-level platform for discussing education policy within the APEC region. There were 20 out of 21 ministers or representatives of member economies attending the meeting, where discussions centred around challenges and strategic directions for the future of education. It was officiated by His Excellency Mr. Lee Ju-Ho, Acting President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea. The theme for this year's meeting is 'Bridging Educational Gaps and Promoting Inclusive Growth in the Era of Digital Transformation'.
The Minister of Education also engaged in a study visit to Seogwi Jungang Girls' Middle School in Jeju where AI-based, digital, and global competency education were being implemented. These visits provided first-hand insights into Korea's future-ready education practice.
