Adulterated Cosmetics Products Found Containing Scheduled Poison

Bandar Seri Begawan: Two cosmetic products have been identified as containing undeclared, scheduled poison according to the Poisons Act 1956, raising significant health concerns. Skin Magical Orange Cucumber Rejuvenating Kit Premium, Premium Rejuvenating Facial Toner and Skin Magical Orange Cucumber Rejuvenating Kit Premium, Premium Rejuvenating Cream were discovered to have adulterants that pose potential health risks.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Ministry of Health has not granted approval for the importation, sale, or issued a Cosmetic Notification Acknowledgement Letter for these products. Consequently, these products are prohibited from being imported and sold in Brunei Darussalam.

Members of the public who have purchased or used the products are urged to cease use immediately. They are advised to seek medical consultation if they feel unwell or encounter any adverse reactions.

Selling these products, including through online platforms, violates the Medicines (Cosmetic Products) Regulations, 2007. The penalty for contravening these regulations, upon conviction, includes a fine not exceeding $5,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or both.

The Ministry of Health urges the public to report to the Compliance and Licensing Section if any of these products are found on the market in Brunei.
