Bandar seri begawan: Baiduri Bank has achieved a significant milestone as it becomes the sole financier for Brunei Darussalam’s first large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant. The signing ceremony with Seria Suria Power took place on the morning of August 18th at the Baiduri Community Space, located at the bank’s headquarters.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was attended by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Muhamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, the Deputy Minister for Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office. During the ceremony, plaques were presented to several representatives of the project partners. The 30-megawatt facility, which is situated in Kampong Belimbing, is being developed under a Public-Private Partnership model. The project is led by Seri Suria Power Brunei Sdn Bhd, a joint venture comprising Serikandi Oilfield Services, Khazanah Satu, and Atlantic Blue. The solar power plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
