Brunei Prepares for WorldSkills ASEAN Competition with Flag Handover Ceremony

Bandar seri begawan: The WorldSkills ASEAN Competition, WSASEAN 2025, is set to take place from the 26th to 28th of August in the Republic of Philippines. It stands as the largest vocational education skills excellence event in the ASEAN region, aiming to showcase global industry standards and promote technical and vocational education and training (T-VET) at an international level. The competition seeks to inspire youth to continuously enhance their skills, adapt to emerging technologies, and contribute to the nation’s competitive edge amidst the Fourth Industrial Revolution. On the morning of 18th August, the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) held a Flag Handover Ceremony for the Brunei Darussalam contingent participating in the competition at the IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the national flag was handed over by Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education. This year, Brunei Darussalam will be represented by participants from IBTE and Politeknik Brunei, who will compete in 13 skill areas including Cybersecurity, Graphic Design Technology, and Mechanical Engineering CAD.
